Why visit the Icebar Amsterdam?

A visit to the Amsterdam Icebar is unlike any  other experience in the city. For a limited time you can immerse yourself in a sub-zero world, where you are surrounded by ice sculptures and signs of a shipwreck. With its unique environment the Ice bar Amsterdam offers a unique photo opportunity.

A visit is fun for all, especially groups and couples, as you can enjoy a fun experience and create lasting memories with friends or your significant other. You can even learn a little bit about Dutch history, as you experience the story of Willem Barentsz’s Arctic exploration.

What to expect from a visit to the Amsterdam Icebar?

The Amsterdam Icebar actually has two bars. There is the ‘warm’ tavern, when you first enter the building and the ice bar itself, which is deeper inside the building. When you come in to the Icebar Amsterdam you’ll get three free tokens, two silver and one golden. The golden token can be exchanged at the warm tavern while the silver tokens can be used at the ice bar.

The warm tavern offers a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. You can use your token for a beer, wine, cocktail, shot, soft drink or something warm, like tea or coffee. As you enjoy your drink, you’ll be introduced to Willem Barentsz, a 16th century Dutch Arctic explorer, who will invite you to join him on his journey to find the Northeast Passage to the Indies.

After the introduction, it is time to prepare yourself for your cold adventure with some warm clothing provide by the bar. Once in the ice bar, you’ll be surrounded by ice as everything there, from the furniture to the walls and the art, is made entirely out of ice. Here, in the Ice Bar in Amsterdam, you can use your two silver tokens to order beers, shots or orange juice, served in glasses made entirely of ice. Don’t forget to snap photos and videos to remember your icy adventure!
