Two towns that grew into one

Prague’s Old Town is small enough to cross in fifteen minutes and dense enough to spend a week in. This walk treats it as what it actually is: a medieval trading settlement that absorbed the Jewish quarter beside it, then spent six centuries building on top of itself.

We start in the Old Town Square and work outwards through the lanes rather than along the main tourist artery, which is where most of the crowd is and almost none of the interest. The Jewish Quarter next door is covered as a neighbourhood with its own long history, not as a checklist of buildings.

The astronomical clock gets explained properly — what it actually shows, which is not what most people standing in front of it think.

Private, so the pace is yours and questions are welcome at any point.
