Our House is the first electronic dance music experience where you explore the evolution of electronic music. The immersive experience takes you into the digital story of the genre and its rich culture. The experience includes interactive installations, shows from floor to ceiling and exhibitions and artwork created by DJs.

At Our House, you will take a 75-minute journey through the history of EDM and see how it evolved from a rebellious underground community to a global cultural phenomenon. Make your own beats on drum machines or work on your skills as a DJ by mixing different tracks. The Pioneer turntables are waiting for you! Featuring iconic music, clubs, festivals create a 270-degree experience, complete with moving floors, lasers, fireworks and more.

Start a jam session on the world’s biggest analogue sequencer, the RMBA-20. Not sure what to do with all this equipment? No worries, join an engaging introduction to the art of DJing. Whatever level you are at, you can attend a history masterclass or a private lesson in producing.

Our House’s collection was compiled with productions from Amsterdam Dance Event, Avicii, Armin van Buuren, Carl Cox, Charlotte de Witte, FAC 51 The Hacienda, Kerri Chandler, Kevin Saunderson, Tomorrowland, The Frankie Knuckles Foundation and ID&T, to name but a few.

The Netherlands and House music: a perfect match

The Netherlands is not the birthplace of House music or EDM, that honour goes to Chicago in the early 1980s. But when the Netherlands caught on, it never let go and quickly developed its own style of electronic music called gabber, which is now often referred to as early hardcore. For years now, Dutch DJs have had a lock on the top spots in the Top 100 DJ list from DJ Mag and EDM has become one of the biggest cultural exports of the country.

Tiesto, Martin Garrix, Armin van Buuren, Afrojack, Fedde le Grand, Oliver Heldens and many other Dutch DJs are known all around the world. And millions of visitors come to the Dutch EDM festivals such as Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), Awakenings Festival, Mysteryland Festival, Mystic Garden Festival, Amsterdam Open Air, Best Kept Secret Festival, and Down the Rabbit Hole.
