Prague’s centre is one of the most crowded in Europe from mid-morning onwards. Before about eight it is close to empty, and the difference is not marginal — it is a different experience of the same place.
This is a deliberately short walk, timed to the light rather than to a list. Charles Bridge without the crowd, the Old Town Square before the tour groups arrive, and the lanes between them while the city is still opening up.
It works particularly well on your first morning, especially if you have arrived from a different time zone and are awake anyway. Two hours, then breakfast, and the rest of the day is yours.
