A exciting step into 10th-century
The Viking Museum in Stockholm takes you back in time to the Viking era through informative and interactive exhibits with the help of artifacts and reconstructions. You can make your way through the exhibit on your own, with the help of an audio guide or join hourly guided tours. Along the way you’ll learn all about the Vikings, how they lived, what they ate, and what made them infamous seafarers.
The Viking Museum exhibit includes multiple historical artifacts on loan from the Swedish History Museum, as well as a life-size Viking whose look is based on DNA from bones preserved at the Sigtuna Museum. Here, you will get a real impression of what life was like for the Vikings, from the bloody battles they fought to their vicious plundering and peaceful farm life and Norse mythology.
Follow Harald’s in the footsteps
The museum’s thrilling ride through Viking times, Ragnfrid’s Saga, takes you on an exciting adventure where you follow the Viking Harald on a journey through 10th-century Europe. The story begins at Frösala farm, where Harald and his wife Ragnfrid live together with their daughter Sigrid.
Harald has wasted away all of the family’s money and has to go out on a Viking Raid to win back their fortune and honour. A ride on Ragnfrid’s Saga is included in your ticket, and you can take the ride as many times as you like while in the museum.
