Tivoli pleasure gardens
Unlike most amusement parks, there is far more to Tivoli than the optional rides alone. The park is filled with different types of gardens to engage all your senses. You can enjoy some peace and quiet in the Hanging Gardens with its big trees and a large grassy area to relax on.
The Orangery is reminiscent of classic, easy, exotic and nostalgic botanical gardens. While the bubbles of the Nimb Water Fountains pull you in to enjoy beautiful flowers and scenery in the company of the occasional peacock. And over at the Pergola Gardens you can explore the world of edible plants by taking in both their fragrance and their flavours.
On the southern tip of the lake you can visit three Asian-inspired gardens. The Bamboo forest has lots of bamboo and rhododendron; the Orient brings you palms, desert-oasis and exotic plants; and the Vintage Cars garden shows you flowerbeds inspired by a Chinese mountain landscape.
Finally, there are the traditionally Danish parts of the park. The Parterre Gardens have long held a position of great importance in Danish garden culture with its 22 beds and 32 water basins. And to visit a fantasy based Danish market town, the Alley is the place to go.
Optional treats and rides
Throughout the green gardens of Tivoli, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to slacken your thirst or taste delicious food. You’ll find all sorts of international cuisines here, from English fish and chips to Italian pizza, and from traditional Danish smorgasbords to Japanese sushi. There is something to eat for everyone at Tivoli.
And then of course there are around 30 rides to enjoy as well. There are rides for all ages, such as the Classic Carousel and Ferris Wheel for the youngest visitors, and the Demon roller coaster and Golden Tower for thrill seekers. All in all a visit to Tivoli Gardens is an experience you don’t want to miss when visiting Copenhagen.
